About KJ Custom Glass

Built on Experience. Made with Precision.

KJ Custom Glass is the work of glass artist Kevin Johnston, who has been working with glass since 2004. Over more than two decades at the torch, he has continued to refine his craft through hands-on experience as well as classes with respected artists across the US.

Kevin works from his own fully equipped home glass studio in Oregon, where every piece is made by hand from start to finish. His shop includes his GTT and Herbert Arnold torches, lathe, facet machinery, sandblasting equipment, and the specialized tools required to create the detailed work you see throughout his pieces.

Precision is a defining part of Kevin’s work. From intricate wig-wag reversals and rettis, to shaping, symmetry, and finishing, he takes his time with each piece rather than approaching glass as mass production.

Quality Materials Matter

KJ Custom Glass is made with quality borosilicate glass, chosen for the material and color work Kevin wants to achieve. He doesn’t cut material costs by substituting inexpensive imported glass simply to produce a cheaper finished piece.

The price of each piece reflects not only the hours spent creating it, but also the materials and resources required to produce high-quality borosilicate work—including glass, propane, oxygen, equipment, tools, and finishing processes.

Direct From the Artist

Today, Kevin is focused on selling his work directly to customers and collectors rather than accepting distributor or wholesale orders.

Buying through KJ Custom Glass means you’re purchasing directly from the artist who made the piece. There is no distributor or middleman between Kevin’s shop and your collection.

Kevin believes the relationship with a customer shouldn’t end when a piece leaves his shop. When you purchase from KJ Custom Glass, you’re purchasing directly from the artist who made your piece—and you’ll know who to contact if you ever have a question or need support.

Whenever possible, Kevin is also willing to evaluate and repair his work if something happens to it. Because every piece and every situation is different, repairs can’t always be guaranteed, but he’ll work directly with you to determine what can be done.

That personal connection is one of the reasons KJ Custom Glass is focused on selling directly to customers and collectors rather than through distributors. Kevin wants the people who own his work to be able to reach the person who actually made it.

Made to Last. Supported by the Artist.

Every KJ Custom Glass piece represents more than 20 years of experience, quality borosilicate glass, specialized equipment, precision, and countless hours spent refining the craft.

But Kevin’s commitment doesn’t stop when the piece is sold.

When you buy KJ Custom Glass, you’re buying directly from the artist—and Kevin stands behind the work he creates.
